Why Support CLERC?

There are many situations when young people need legal assistance.

For example:

Children whose parents are separating or divorcing;
Children of new Canadians who are caught up in their parents' sponsorship issues;
Young people who do not live with their parents and need legal help to get financial support to stay in school;
Young people who are treated unfairly and need help getting their final pay cheques, damage deposits and personal property.

Money spent on CLERC is money well spent. Young people accessing CLERC services are often doing so at crucial times in their lives.

Providing young people with advocacy services:

> supports and strengthens the development of self-esteem
> fosters self-reliance and resilience
> reduces the conflict children and their families experience.
